ADHD & Autism Foods To Avoid
Different foods cause different responses in the intestinal tract, feeding bad bacteria and breaking the blood brain barrier. It is vital to avoid these foods that feed bad bacteria in the intestines and as a result cause problematic behavior. Some people do not have visible swelling but do have evidence of bad bacteria overgrowth prestenting as ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, ticks and dyslexia. Once the offensive foods have been removed from the diet, some parents beleive their child never had ADHD, autism or even bipolar disorder. Instead they say it was just a reaction to food. The food we eat today is not as clean as it was in years past. It’s mass manufactured for high yield, altering the God made structure. THIS is what some parents say is causing these behavioral problems.
Stay away from this list of foods like it’s a street drug, because it is. To an ADHD or autistic kid, it is.
If you have tried food to cure behavior issues and it didn’t work check these commonly eaten foods that are thought to be healthful to children with behavior problems. It is a lot of work and takes a lot of time but you will gain the freedom of an imprisoned person.
It’s hard to look at this list and not get overwhelmed. Take it in small bites if that helps. It is not worth having a breakdown, it IS worth getting better and better each day.
Many mothers have told me they changed their diet and it didn’t help their child. Please post below if you’ve eliminated all these things and still saw no results. There are other options at that point. I’ve never heard of that happening but in the most incredible cases it is possible.

In a nutshell what you want to do is buy vegetables, real butter, real meat, fish and cook them on the stove or in the oven. It is worth saying again; yes, this is more work. Yes, this takes more time. BUT you will have a healthy child. In the long run you are saving time and freeing a person.

I am wondering why some things show up on this list, like okra and yucca?
yucca is a starch which feeds bad bacteria in the gut, just like potatoes and corn. okra feeds bad bacteria in the gut too. once gut healing has taken place and there are no more signs of illness they should be able to be re-introduced- that’s what we did but not enough gut healing too place and over time, struggles reappeared.
Are there any kind of pasta, rice or bread that is allowed? Organic rice? Rice pasta? My son tested 0 allergies to rice… Also, are storebought organic meats ok (organic chicken)?
pasta, rice and breads are all fiberous starches, which according to dr. natasha campbell-mcbride, author of gaps, a damaged digestive system can not digest. in fact the starches inflame the system further. the type of meat you use would be dependent on the amount of damage he has. the only way to know if he can tolerate it is to try. kids heal faster than adults so your likelihood of it working is higher. if it doesn’t work move to not just organic chicken but move to free roaming, bug and worm eating pastured chickens that are not fed supplemental feed (you have to find this from a local farmer). praying he’ll find success with the organic chicken since it’s easier and probably cheaper.
Is this list completely from the GAPS diet, or have foods been added to it? It does seem like a lot to remove, are there certain foods that should be removed first because they cause a more severe reaction? I would like to share this information with my friend whose step-son’s severe ADHD has not improved with meds, but she is taking care of five young boys, one with cystic fibrosis who has dietary restrictions of his own. I don’t want to overwhelm her more!
All of the foods on the list are GAPS foods. dr natasha says this list would help those with ADHD as well as those with cystic fibrosis. your friend would be able to feed all the boys the same. if you do not follow the food list you will most likely be feeding pathogenic bacteria in the gut. dr. natasha says when the gut heals the patient heals. this is why you remove the foods that feed pathogens.
What about a vegetarian child?
What about if you do all those things and your child is still no different? Our daughter doesn’t eat any sugar, or gluten or dairy…We buy all our food at local farms, and at westin a price approved farms…and it does nothing different for her… as she ages things just get worse… she is allergic to some things for sure and we stay away from those as well
Sugar in all forms do you mean from fruits as well?
It depends on the person and the depth of damage to the microbiome. It’s a treat, at best, not a staple. Lowest sugar fruit is best, berries, such as blackberries, raspberries, blueberries or strawberries. I wouldn’t go over a quarter cup a day.
What do you mean by store bought chicken to avoid?
…with injected preservatives. Sourcing food from a well known and trusted farmer is best.
I am wondering why rice in the list, most of the sites stating having rice and rice flour (batter – make Pancake/idli indian version) good for autistic kid to get very good digestion, please advice.
What particular bacteria types do you consider to be bad?
Various unbiased studies have now shown without a doubt that Animal products feed the bad bacteria.
You want a plant based WHOLEfood diet with plenty fibre to feed the good bacteria with plenty seeds, nuts and legumes.
I healed various condition in myself, my partner and child this way. I also supplement with raw cacoa, matcha green tea, activated methyl folate, activated B12, L thianine, and the marine algae omega 3 DHA.
Just worked so blooming well I just thought i’d put it out there, i know people have adverse thoughts about primarily plant based diets for various reasons. Protein is not an issue nor is iron or calcium if you eat your greens like broccoli and spinach with a little fat to also get all those amazing phytonutrients.
