Changing The Microbiome Doctor Goes On Record

Digestive enzymes, food allergies and illnesses are continually linked. Bacteria and pathogens build creating an imbalance in the microbiome, setting the stage for opportunistic parasites which perpetuate a downward spiral.
Research is showing certain illnesses lead to others.
“A low thyroid is a common trigger for fibromyalgia. How do you tell if it’s fibromyalgia vs only Hashimotos? Well, it’s real simple, you can’t sleep,” says Jacob Teitelbaum, MD, the medical director of the national Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers and specialist on fibromyalgia and thyroid disorders. “There’s a reason this is skyrocketing. A lot of the reason is the diet. The loss of digestive enzymes and food allergies are the cause.”
All of this originates from a damaged gut lining.

Dr.Teitelbaum himself came down with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia while in medical school. He dropped out of medical school and subsequently became homeless. “What happened was holistics, holistic practitioners, naturopaths, energy workers, all these different folks (tended to me). Some of them fed me. I learned nutritional deficiencies and candida were major players. I was able to get well and return to medical school.” He has spent the past 39 years since working and studying further on these issues.

Teitelbaum doesn’t rely too much on the normal range of thyroid blood tests because, he says, if you don’t fall into the normal range but it’s not working for you, it’s a problem. He says the false negative results on thyroid tests is remarkable. He recommends patients who aren’t getting help from their doctor should go to ABIHM.org and find a holistic practitioner who already knows a basis of the problems.
“Thyroid tests suck. They’re totally unreliable. If a person is tired, achy, weight gain and cold intolerant they deserve thyroid hormone no matter what their blood tests show,” Dr. Teitelbaum says. “If you’re taking thyroid and you feel great, problem solved. If you’re taking thyroid hormone and you still don’t feel so hot, if you can’t sleep without taking stuff consider the low thyroid has caused you to blow a fuse, or throw a circuit breaker. That’s caused fibromyalgia.”

Symptoms of fibromyalgia are tired, achy, weight gain, joint pain and brain fog.
Dr. Teitelbaum says, “Sugar. That needs to be restricted. High protein, low carb works the best for most people with fibro. Get plenty and plenty of water.”
He is an advocate of ribose, what he calls the backbone of ATP, the energy molecules in the body. He says the body runs on nutrients

and it’s difficult to find what you are specifically deficient in and the ribose covers it all for you. Dr. Teitelbaum says his recommendation for a daily regime to fix a body suffering from fibromyalgia is: ribose, one vectomega (click here) an Omega-3 fatty acid from salmon , 200 mg coenzyme Q10 (click here – beware many coenzyme Q10 supplements contain rice flour, cellulose and other fillers which are damaging to the gut lining perpetuating the root cause of the fibromyalgia. The one linked here is considered clean).
Teitelbaum says, “I don’t want people to be part of the handful club, where they take a handful of vitamins a day.”
First and foremost the solution is clean food that does not perpetuate the damaged gut flora. Nutrition should come from food, not supplements.
“The adrenal has to be working properly in order for the thyroid to be working properly. If people get these feed me now or I will kill you episodes a lot of that is low adrenal. Low blood sugar makes a person’s fangs come out,” says Teitelbaum. He adds, “Treat with an adrenal stress sandwich: licorice, vitamin B5, adrenal glandulars and vitamin C. That helps the adrenal glands heal up. I will sometimes use cortef or bioidentical prescription cortisol but I rarely go over 15 milligrams per day.”
Finding a clean adrenal glandular is difficult and results show it only works for two months. Repairing the body at the core is vital.
Products like this one have all of them together in one clean package. Be aware glandulars often contain filler ingredients like silicone dioxide, click here to read more.

Candida is the only thing worth treating for fibromyalgia. He says, “It’s not even worth testing, if you have fibromyalgia treat it.” He recommends getting a good quality probiotic and nystatin for at least 6 weeks saying, “It’s a critical part of treating fibromyalgia.”
The most important piece of the puzzle is probiotics both in therapeutic form and fermented food form. Click here to read why.
The top probiotics for treatment do not perpetuate the pathogenic overgrowth of bad bacteria in the gut like this one, this one and this one. Correcting the microbiome corrects the root cause of fibromyalgia.
Teitalbaum’s first book From Fatigued To Fantastic sites over 500 studies which he admits for those with firbromyalgia, who have brain fog, need a short and simple version which is his latest book The Fatigue and Fibromyalgia Solution. Both books explain what is happening to your body and what to do to fix the trauma.

Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, author of GAPS and specialist on autoimmune diseases and the recovery therein says fibromyalgia is one of the most drastic illnesses to rehabilitate as it affects the systems in the body that assist the body in healing. A lot of consistent effort and persistence will eventually create a situation where the body will recover, however, she says these patients have to be diligent with their diet and replenishing the microbiome.
