Doctors Disagree On Candida Eradication, Making The Wrong Choice Could Cause More Damage

Eradicating candida, an opportunistic organism that is a pathogenic yeast, involves one of the most controversial methods of elimination – with the two top methods following complete opposite protocols.
“The more you let it go the more toxic it becomes over time,” says Christa Orecchio, CHN and author of The Whole Journey 180 Delicious Ways To Use Food As Medicine.
As a pathogenic yeast it can only establish itself growing prolifically out of control when the gut microbiome is not in a symbiotic relationship, pathogenic microbes are abounding with the result of Intestinal Permeability which causes other issues and symptoms affecting each person in the weakest link of their genetic chain: depression, anxiety, adrenal fatigue, autism, bipolar disorder or even an auto-immune disease.

Compounds released by candida are as toxic as nail polish remover. Dr. McBride says it is acetone. McBride is the forerunner on repairing the microbiome and reversing auto-immune disease.

Alcohol, caffeine, aspirin and birth control pills thin the mucosal lining in the gut. Over consumption of sugar and grains feeds candida. Typical candida symptoms are continual sugar cravings, toenail fungus, jock itch, brain fog, yeast infections, bloating, constipation, rash on the skin, depression, anxiety and B vitamin deficiencies.
“Candida needs sugar to thrive and it feeds off of fermentation,” Orecchio says.
Doing a spit test is an easy way to find if you have candida overgrowth. To do this eliminate dairy for 3 days before you begin testing for the spit test as it can give you a false negative result. To perform the spit test at home put a clear glass of water by your bedside at night. First thing in the morning after you wake up spit a dime-sized wad of saliva into the glass and observe. If it sinks to the bottom, you have candida, if it grows legs over time you have growing candida, if it floats on top you have normal candida. Do the spit test over the course of six days, along with testing your pH, through test strips like these, test your first and second urine of the morning and saliva looking for a window of between 7.25 and 7.45 registering on the strips. If the pH is very acidic or fluctuating up and down arrows point to candida. A pH of 7.0 is optimal. It is normal for the first urine to be more acidic and the second urine to be more balanced, this shows the body is functioning properly.
The controversy comes in controlling candida. Most all natural remedies say to starve candida through diet – eliminating sugars, grains and high carbs. Balancing the microbiome, in difficult cases, comes from removing heavy metals, and strengthening the immune system.

Orecchio recommends rotating candida eradicators every four days.
Her rotation cycle cleanse includes food grade dietamaceous earth, which slices up the exoskeleton of parasites and worms so they can be eliminated, followed by bentanite clay to mop up the poisons and toxins, lots of water, insoluble and soluble fiber, such as soaked chia seeds in water. “If your channels of elimination are not open, if you are not regularly eliminating, having regular bowel movements, you get Herxeimer response, it’s going to be a lot worse. You have to make sure things are flowing.”
She adds rotating antifungals every four days will help subdue the overgrowth. Anifungals include pau-de-arco, an antifungal herb, made as a really strong tea (4 bags per cup) sipping with your meal. Continue this protocol if you continue with an auto-immune issue. After four days do oregano oil for 4 days in capsules like these, with meals. Then move onto grapefruit seed extract for four days to support the immune system and adrenals. Then progress to olive leaf extract for the next four days to eliminate other fungals and rebuild. This 16 day rotation should be repeated as needed with a minimum rotation of twice. Most of her patients rotate 3 or 4 cycles.

She adds to taking a Sacharomyces Boulardii, a yeast eating probiotic strain like this one, is key to resolving candida yeasts.
WebMD says, “Saccharomyces boulardii is also used for general digestion problems, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBD, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis), Lyme disease, a bowel disorder called relapsing Clostridium difficile colitis, and bacterial overgrowth in short bowel syndrome, lactose intolerance, urinary tract infections (UTIs), vaginal yeast infections, high cholesterol levels, hives, fever blisters, canker sores, and teen-age acne.”
The NIH says sacchoromyces boulardii is effective in treating H. pylori, yeast, bacterial overgrowth, diarrhea, intestinal disturbances and recovery form antibiotic use. They add, “No adverse effects were observed in any of the clinical trials.”

Orecchio says rebuilding the system can be done with marshmallow root, slippery elm, turmeric with black pepper for inflammation, bone broths and okra. All the while making sure you are producing enough HCl and Pepsin for digestive enzymes. This can be done through supplementation like this one but Orecchio says she prefers a ginger pickle to stimulate HCl production.
The major conflict among doctors is in the protocol for elimination. The most prominent and respected doctor for healing Leaky Gut, Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, MD, neurologist and neurosurgeon who specializes in Intestinal Permeability through her GAPS protocol says many things contrary to Orecchio. Dr. Natasha heals intestinal pathogens by nourishing healthy bacteria strains within the gut while starving pathogenic strains. Her work is monumental, she is considered the pioneer in gut health.
Dr. McBride’s finding show many recommendations made by Orecchio feed pathogens including okra, stevia, the ingredients in store bought almond milk, xylitol and baking powder. She says these ingredients should be avoided until the healing has takes place and the microbiome reestablished.
The most powerful healing, she says, comes from home brewed lactobacillus and acidophilus. The easiest and least expensive way to do this is through kraut juice and home brewed yogurt.

Dr. Natasha recommends eliminating all sugars, except small amounts of local honey if needed and following a non-starch, non-grain healing protocol that includes a specific probiotic plan. Click here to read more.

Does Dr. Plotner accept insurance assignment?
I got rid of Candida within 18 months after trying to KILL it for well over 30 years, by following a very low carb, high fat (mainly coconut oil), with a few basic supplements, diet run by Bee Wilder. No probiotics, no antifungals, no herbs.
After 30+ years I was no longer a walking fungus-factory. No more thrush, no more dandruff, no more athlete’s foot, and no more horrible sore, smelly patches in every nook and cranny. All gone.
And by keeping my diet low carb it has never returned……
Agree! Along with the severe fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. I also suffer from severe Candida albicans overgrowth. This I’ve had even before the 1st osteoarthritis hit at 32yrs old and THEN severe fibromyalgia at 36yrs. I’m being sarcastic, but thanks to this nasty fungus my life and gut has been havoc and the doctors giving me oral difuncal just added fuel to the low burning flame that had already been burning. They overmedicated me that my immune system is so jacked up that if I take antibiotics or antifungal oral or topical does absolutely nada!
It got so bad that I recently developed a really bad inner ear infection in my left ear. Again, went to ER and they gave me some “ear drops” put the solution in my hurting infected ear did NOTHING. But, thanks be to God I got wiser than these stupid doctors whom I don’t trust anymore. And YES! I did go see an ENT specialist doc whom wrote me a prescription for the same junk. I decided not to take anymore prescribed junk and opted out for “pro ear” ear drops on Amazon and added in some oregano oil with garlic oil into the ear drops plastic container EVERY night and wala after just 5 days my ear infection cleared up and urgent care MD said my ear’s (he checked both) were squeaky clean. I’ve been also on a parasites detox herb diet and to my amazement I poop out white mucous/yeast. Lol! Guess like the shrek say’s, “better out than in!” I’m done with Candida. I take it out in a heart beat….
So, Monica what WAS that parasite detox herb diet???????????????????
