Heavy Metal Toxicity In Gluten Free Flours

  • Categories nourishingplot

ashlee14Tungsten, a heavy metal with the atomic number 74, symbol W, possesses a remarkably high melting point which makes its use in guns, wear resistant products and television tubes valuable but its existence in rice and rice flour is unsettling. Tungsten poisoning used to be rare as it was sourced to French artillery soldiers using their gun barrel, recently fired, as a shot glass- celebrating their recent activities with some quality liquor or beer. Currently, tungsten toxicity is sourced from rice protein.

The gluten free flour trend is becoming more concerning than predicted. Many doctors have been warning the public that gluten free flours are high starch villains, empty calories void of nutrition. This presents a problematic downfall for the consumer as gluten free eaters are usually already sick with intestinal issues.

“Don’t replace something bad with something bad. We know the manufacturers looking for a substitute for wheat and gluten turn to corn starch, tapioca starch, rice flour and potato starch as the replacement products. When you take starches like this, dried and pulverized, you have huge increases in blood sugar. The only foods that raise blood sugar even higher than wheat are dates and figs, corn starch, tapioca starch, rice flour and potato starch,” says Dr. William Davis, MD, heart surgeon and author of Wheat Belly. Click here to read the first section of his book for free.

Dr. Davis makes no apologies and is blunt when he says, “Those people who manufacture gluten free flours made a big mistake. They picked the most awful things they could. Food scientists choose things on the basis of taste, palatability, and shelf life not nutrition.”

People who choose to eat gluten free flours, he says, end up with leaky gut, irritable bowel disease, dementia, excessive bloating and weight gain. He speaks of this as if this outcome is not a potential problem but an inevitable problem. It’s just a matter of time.

He adds, “If someone came to me saying we’ve organized 50, 100, 150 for a class action suit I would sign my name right away! These people have made a huuuuuuuuge mistake. Ironically it’s the gluten free industry who work the hardest fighting my message.”

He says it’s reasonable if you want to give your  child an occasional gluten free processed muffin it’s OK but by all means it can not be a steady part of the diet. Beware about corn starch consumption containing the zein protein, tapioca starch, rice flour and potato starch. “Rice flour is mostly starch, there’s not very much protein, less than 1%. We do have this new issue of arsenic. Arsenates, at very high levels, are in all rice products. And the lectin of rice overlaps significantly with wheat germiglutinin (the lectin of wheat).”

The starch problem in gluten free flours is trumped by the newly found heavy metal presence of tungsten.

In early 2014 Natural News tested rice flours and found tungsten in rice protein. Please click here to view their findings.

Cases in Arizona and Nevada are showing childhood leukemia is connected to tungsten. Mike Adams reported, “Tungsten, like other heavy metals, can travel hundreds or even thousands of miles through the air and settle on agricultural lands. It can also be dumped into waters that might later be used to irrigate rice crops.”

CBS News reported tungsten toxicity is connected to strokes. They said a study of 8,000 people showed, “Those with high levels of tungsten in their bodies were two times more likely to have a stroke than people with the lowest levels.” They further added, “The researchers looked into tungsten exposure because recent studies suggest the metal isn’t as stable in the environment as once thought, and can potentially leach into water. That combined with increasing production — about 72,000 tons of tungsten was produced in the U.S. last year compared to 40,000 in 2002 — led them to investigate whether the compound was linked to health risks.”

The National Institute of Health (NIH) reported concern regarding tungsten toxicity in rats implanted with metal surgical implants. They reported, “From the literature, there are reports that traumatic brain injury disrupts the blood-brain barrier.” The link between heavy metal

toxicity from shrapnel raised further questions with soldiers suffering traumatic brain injuries after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The NIH reported, “We hypothesize that this influx of metals overwhelms normal brain homeostasis, depletes the brain’s antioxidant defense systems, and activates microglial cells resulting in the release of inflammatory mediators that can potentially exacerbate the adverse effects of traumatic brain injury.”

Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology published the article entitled “Pulmonary toxicity after exposure to military-relevant heavy metal tungsten alloy particles,” saying, “Rats intramuscularly implanted with pellets containing 91.1% tungsten/6% nickel/2.9% cobalt rapidly developed aggressive metastatic tumors at the implantation site.”

The presence of tungsten in food, as well as its effects, are still being researched.

Healthy options for flour, instead of gluten free grains, would be almond flour (click here for a reputable brand), sunflower seeds (click here for a reputable brand) and coconut flours (click here for a reputable brand). The link to the sunflower seeds directs me to almond flour. There was no active link for the almond flour. I am interested in the sunflower seed source. Thanks

This list is even more restrictive for gf foods than others..But Peanuts should NEVER be on an acceptable list as all peanuts (& corn) are infected with mycotoxins from fugnus, universally. Also read a report recently about Sunflower seeds, products being ‘bad for the gut’ also… forgot the stated reason of that report. In Elaine Gottschall’s book, to rid the body of fungus that eats thru the gut lining, she does not permit rice nor does Doug Kaufmann also authored books who is also on tv with an anti-fungus program (Know the Cause) does not permit rice on ‘his’ phase one diet.. for the starch content. No one ever mentioned a metal toxicity with it…Doug Kaufmann makes the claim about the toxicity of peanuts and corn.

i see no actual testing provided that shows metals found in GF flours? One test by Natural News on rice protein and that was it. But a whole lotta scare info about tungsten, though no data that it was found in GF flours??
