I Drugged My Child Repetitively Every Day

I drugged my child.
My sweet adoring child could light up the room with his smile at the same time he could fill your heart with laughing butterflies. His spirit was afire inside him. He was a delight. Yet, he acted as if he was on drugs. His manic behavior was out of control, like a wild animal. He could dart faster than a cheetah. His explosive behavior left me with a black eye from a simple hug. He even stabbed me with a pencil leaving a chunk of graphite in my wrist for days.
When his behavior was explosive, he couldn’t hear you. There was no point in talking to him, he wasn’t there. There were times I could see him inside his eyes, but they were rare.
I had to hold his hand with a death grip if we were in public, otherwise he would fling himself into moving traffic. Many times I wondered if I could break the bones in his hand holding him so tightly. If I didn’t, he was off like a bolt of lightning. In seconds, he was gone, running so fast it was a desperate, prayer filled, sprint to catch him.

He didn’t listen. Telling him something was like talking to a pillow filled with pudding. If you told him to not do something, he turned around and did it. If you asked him a question, he stared at the side of your cheek with a blank face. He couldn’t repeat back to you what you told him. He drooled constantly. He bit other children. He hit them and stole their toys with no concern. He rarely smiled. He had bloody noses, that rivaled CSI crime scenes, multiple times a week. The bathroom was always clean because it was a necessity to clean up the mess five times a day.
He wasn’t a hot mess, he was a volcanic explosion.
As I observed him, there was clearly a pattern.
My child was obviously drugged, acting a fool, after he ate. There was rarely a moment that he wasn’t lit up, but if it had been a very long time since he had eaten, he was calm and coherent.
He was the pickiest eater I’d ever seen. When we started our journey, he was down to eating only three foods, everything else sat there on his plate. He wasn’t just picky with food, he was picky with clothes. He could only wear certain fabrics with no tags. If a tag was left behind it was like a squealing pig trapped in a bucket, tugging and pulling on his clothes.
His body was like a lit firecracker all day, but when he slept it was like trying to wake a brick wall.
When I told this to multiple doctors, they told me I was putting too much emphasis on food, “Some kids are just out to lunch!” and my favorite, “You should consider your parenting skills.”
I was told, “You should love him for who he is.”
When he was six we had visited more doctors than we ever imagined, trying to figure out what was wrong. That year our co-pays totaled $750, back when co-pays were $25 each.
I always left with more questions instead of answers and we were no closer to a solution.
While waiting for referrals and the next appointment to the next specialist we dug for information. We saw doctor after doctor, specialist after specialist.
My son was defined. Autistic, Asperger’s, he suffered from ADHD, bipolar disorder/manic depression, was hypoglycemic and dyslexic. He clearly had a compromised immune system that was defeated by chronic croup, often multiple times a month. We carried steroids with us everywhere we went while we saw croup come for a visit over 20 times in a year and a half.
His compromised immune system caused him to have persistent warts which were still present even after being professionally removed 8 different times.
It’s over ten years later now and this child is normal, with no diagnostic labels. He shows no sign of illness. It’s been a long tiring road we have traveled but he’s well and the whole family has either lost weight or is healthier, and it’s all his fault. We have no teeth issues, no illness, no pain, we don’t get the annual flu bug or suffer from fears of illness – and it’s all his fault.
We eat like God designed us to eat, food in its natural unadulterated, processed form, and we live with laughter and joy instead of depression, anxiety, fear or manipulation. Food comes from animals raised on pasture and food that isn’t treated with sprays or pesticides. We cook at home, three meals a day. We buy from farmers who don’t treat their land. We ferment food for greater nutrition. We eat natural animal fats and grind our own ancient grains from Biblical wheat strains. Traditional eating has saved my son, has saved our family.
One doctor, Dr. Natasha Campbell-Mcbride with a Degree in Medicine and Postgraduate Degrees in Neurology and Human Nutrition, verified everything we uncovered after three years of being well with a normal son. In her book Gut and Psychology Syndrome she described our struggle in detail and she had never met us.
On page 72 she says, “In the late 1970s it was discovered that gluten from grains and casein from milk can be turned into opiates in the digestive system, which absorb into the blood, cross the blood-brain barrier and affect the brain. These opiates were found in the urine of schizophrenic patients and those with depression and autoimmune conditions. Later on Dr. Reichelt in Norway and Dr. Shattock in the UK found the same compounds in the urine of autistic children.”
Patricia Allen, LMT, NTP, CGP also says, “Gluten free flours are like crack.”
Katsuzo Nishi, in his book Nishi System of Health Engineering says, “White sugar taken beyond quantum sufficit is sure to bring about acidosis which is responsible for some 75 per cent of diseases,” page 234.
The British Journal of Psychiatry stated, “Eating a diet high in processed food increases the risk of depression.”
Dr. Andrew McCullah said, “An existing body of solid research shows the strong links between what we eat and our mental health.”
Interestingly, “When the temperature of (Aspartame sweetener) exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in ASPARTAME converts to formaldehyde and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolic acidosis. Formic acid is the poison found in the sting of fire ants. The methanol toxicity mimics, among other conditions, multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus,” says Julia Shalom Jordan in “Sweet KILLER” January 24, 2013.
“Food additives, particularly artificial colors and flavors, as well as benzoate preservative, appear to increase hyperactivity in children, including those without ADD,” says Katherine Ellison in BUZZ, A Year of Paying Attention, (Voice, Hyperion, New York , 2010 p 219).
Ellison also points out in 2009 the state of Maryland was considering making benzoate ( a preservative), artificial colors and artificial flavors illegal (Ellison, 2010 p 273).
Click here Interestingly enough, sodium benzoate turns to cancer in the body when mixed with vitamin C.
Back in 2008, Europe called for a “ban on six artificial food colourings after research found a link with hyperactivity in children.” (BBC News, “Europe-wide food colour ban call,” April 10, 2008).
In the state of Washington, a progressive state, it’s illegal to serve farm raised salmon in a restaurant. If you are caught serving anything other than wild caught you can be arrested.
We eat nutrient dense foods with the addition of probiotic foods and see no signs of any illness or disease. In fact, it’s hard to see if anything was ever outside of normal.
This leads us to wonder if the situation really was autism, Asperger’s, bipolar, ADHD, hypoglycemia and dyslexia, or if it was chemical and toxin poisoning.
We no longer drug our children with food. On the rare occasion when an unadulterated ingredient slips through the cracks we all feel it immediately.
*Nourishing Plot is written by a mom whose son has been delivered from the effects of autism (asperger’s syndrome), ADHD, bipolar disorder, manic depression, hypoglycemia and dyslexia through food. This is not a news article published by a paper trying to make money. This blog is put out by a mom who sees first hand the effects of nourishing food vs food-ish items. No company pays her for writing these blogs, she considers this a form of missionary work. It is her desire to scream it from the rooftops so that others don’t suffer from the damaging effect of today’s “food”.

I hope you write much more. Your voice is important. Thank you!
Becky, you really know your subject well, due to personal experience. Good job!
LOL, you do know the before and after paul! it’s been a crazy long road. i dont understand how some of this “food” is legal.
I was curious if by chance you knew how long it takes the gluten and casein to turn into opiates or if it varies person to person? There are several other things that have peaked my interest in this article and I’ll be sure to read through more of your blog and do some more research. I appreciate you putting this information out there 🙂
Your story is my story exactly. Thank you for sharing and bringing attention to the fact that real food is what our bodies and minds require to grow and thrive. Everyone needs to wake up and stop buying poison and feeding it to the children. When you do stop buying processed dead junk food and start eating real food you will never regret it for a second.
