Natural Remedies For A Red Ant Bite
A red ant bite can be one of the most pestering, annoying and itchy things known to man. I was recently bitten by a red ant while picking blueberries in flip flops and my foot swelled up like a tree trunk. The itching was out of this world. The area turned a red hue covering half the foot then developed a bruise look. A white triangle appeared further down the foot if I flexed my toes back. The itching was the worst.
Being a GAPS mama I can’t take medicines as I get every one of the side effects on the label so I tried everything I could think of: activated charcoal, clove essential oil, orange essential oil, lemon balm essential oil, rubbing alcohol, oil and miscellaneous poultices.

Two products gave relief, one completely took the issue away instantaneously.

Rescue Remedy taken internally was a blessing and calmed the fire. I applied it topically as well as internally however, it did take five doses over the course of an hour and 15 minutes for the pain to completely go away. When the pain surfaced again a few hours later I tore through the cabinets looking for resolve.
The winner is this homeopathic remedy! Net Remedies has made themselves a winner with this spray. One spray, sprayed directly on the ant bite topically, and the fire was squelched! Three sprays and I nearly cried with relief. I will never let this bottle go dry now that I know.

*Nourishing Plot is written by Becky Plotner, ND, traditional naturopath, GAPS who sees clients in Rossville, Georgia. Since her son was delivered from the effects of autism (Asperger’s syndrome), ADHD, bipolar disorder/manic depression, hypoglycemia and dyslexia through food she continued her education specializing in Leaky Gut and parasitology through Duke University, finishing with distinction. This is not a news article published by a paper trying to make money. This blog is put out by a mom who sees first hand the effects of nourishing food vs food-ish items. No company pays her for writing these blogs, she considers this a form of missionary work. It is her desire to scream it from the rooftops so that others don’t suffer from the damaging effect of today’s “food”.

Becky, did you post the wrong remedy on Amazon ? I pulled up what looks like drops for gastrointestinal issues, not the spray for bugs bites.

Parasolve is a homeopathic remedy that relieves several issues. It addresses gastrointestinal issues through parasitic attack – “para”solve. This is the correct product link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B9GW05M?creativeASIN=B00B9GW05M&linkCode=w01&linkId=D6COSOEMOTCMT4P4&ref_=as_sl_pc_ss_til&tag=nourishingp0c-20
I was going to ask the same thing. Confused. Did it take 1-1/2 hr or one spray?
A drop of common household ammonia on the bite will neutralize the venom. It is sold as an insect bite treatment in a sponge top applicator bottle. I keep a bottle of the unscented cleaning aisle product under the kitchen sink. Works on scorpion stings, misquito bites, wasp and bee stings. Also kills chiggers, never takes more than two applications for chiggers, am and pm.
Awesome! Thanks Janet! Why do you not take more than 2 applications for chiggers – which frankly I think are from the devil! Those buggers are aweful!
