Ranking Refillable Water Filters For Heavy Metal Removal

The non-profit Consumer Wellness Center, Forensic Food Lab, a subgroup of Natural News recently tested refillable water filter pitchers for Aluminum, Copper, Arsenic, Strontium, Cadmium, Cesium, Mercury, Lead and Uranium levels. Most filters shockingly added heavy metals to the water.
The highest ranking filter is not the most commonly used but removed over 99% of the toxic heavy metals in the water. The ZeroWater refillable filter is similar in price to the Brita filter, yet the heavy metal removal of each is drastically different.

The lab tested seven brands of carbon based refillable water filters including ZeroWater, WaterMan, Pur, Seychelle, Culligan, Mavea and Brita. ZeroWater blew the competition away with high marks of heavy metal removal. No other filter ranked high across the board in all catagories.
Shockingly all other filters, except one added heavy metal toxicity to the water.

The Brita filter scored the worst of the models tested with remarkably low scores. The Brita removed 74.6% of the mercury but all other metals tested at 14% removal or lower. In fact there was 33.9% more aluminum in the water after it was filtered. Click here to see if it’s the one on your refrigerator shelf.
The ZeroWater filter has a 5-stage ion-exchange filter.
The company says, “PVC is a type of plastic and doesn’t leach out of the plastic into our system. Since our system is certified by NSF and has passed a leach test, there can’t be any plastic particles in our water.”
The ZeroWater filter removes particles and metals to the 000 test reading. In regards to fluoride ZeroWater says, “ZeroWater filters are not certified for the reduction of fluoride however fluoride is an inorganic compound. The TDS (total dissolved solids) meter is designed to detect inorganic compounds. Fluoride levels in water are usually around 2 to 4 ppm, which will show up on the meter as 002 to 004. So when filtered water reads 000 it is not likely that fluoride is present in water.”

Many stlyes and sizes of the ZeroWater are available including a refillable pitcher, a travel water bottle, a tumbler, a large refrigerator dispenser with a push button spout and detection monitor that shows the filtration strength of the filter and a water cooler bottle.

For those of us who can not afford a reverse osmosis system or a counter-top Berkey a refillable pitcher is better than nothing, however, now it may be reality that the refillable pitcher is comparable to the high priced counterparts.
If you are not drinking properly filtered water your body must become the filter, leaving it less energy and ability to detoxify other chemicals and fillers in the environment and food. It is recommended that the average person drink half their body weight in ounces per day, more if you are trying to detoxify. Toxins flush out of the body through detox pathways such as fecal matter, urine, skin excretions, nasal excretions, lung excretions and saliva secretions.

Research Amway espring water purifier
Do NOT use zero water filters, they are toxic, dangerous and potentially deadly. Do a google search “zero water filters + dangerous”. I just bought one on a friday and by monday the next week, it was unuseable, and had a seriously bad taste like something died inside the filter and I got sick from it too. Don’t believe me, do yourself a favor and, research it for yourself. I used to read natural news website all the time but there have been a number of times a little red flag went up in subconcious because of some wierd claims he has made in articles and I believe there are some serious conflicts of interest with this man and the website, at this time I do NOT trust Mike at natural n3ws anymore, i believe although he claims to be a consumer advocate, that he may be more into just making a buck, Let the buyer beware!
