Choose your strawberries straight from the farm or garden and process into leather the same day.

Since the magnesium load in these treats is high, a reasonable serving is necessary which is hard to do because they are num, num, nummy. Too much may give you the high magnesium side effect of loose stools or overly calm for your personality.
These fruit leather roll ups are pliable and roll easily, without parchment or wax to separate. Storage in a snack pack zip top bag is sufficient.
Fill your Vitamix, blender or food processor to the top with fresh pick, preferably organic, strawberries, washed with the tops on or removed, your choice. A lot of good nutrition is contained in the strawberry right next to the leaves and in the leaves themselves. For this reason some people leave the stems on when blending, you’ll never know they are there. The leaves are extremely high in vitamin C, and other antioxidants, and can be used fresh or dried for a medicinal tea. Strawberries tend to retain pesticide residue so obtaining organic is best, if possible.
Herbalists use young strawberry leaves because they are antibacterial, antifungal and astringent. They aid in bladder health, catarrh, diarrhea, digestion, liver health, rash control, lung support, joint paint, vascular issues and weight loss.
Add 2 tablespoons of local honey, more if your strawberries need more sweetness, 1 teaspoon vanilla (home-brewed is best), 4 tablespoons unflavored magnesium powder (the flavoring process of others are filled with processed sweeteners and additives that feed pathogens in the intestinal tract – these should be avoided at all costs), 1/2 teaspoon organic lemon juice.
Blend the mixture smooth. WARNING, this mixture will grow, foaming up from the magnesium powder, so once it is mixed be sure to pour right to your dehydrator sheet lined with non-stick sheeting. Dehydrate at 115 degrees for 8 hours or until dry to the touch. Cut into strips with scissors and roll.
